Every month we gather food and deliver it to the Interfaith Food Pantry serving the Aurora community.
On Feb 14th (the second Sunday of the month), we have a Reverse Offering where a second offering plate with slips of paper that have items that the food pantry needs. You pull out one or more slips of paper.
On Feb 21st (the third Sunday of the month), you bring that item(s) to church and put in the wicker baskets. At the offering time, the baskets of food are brought to the altar and blessed along with the other gifts of bread, wine, and monetary offerings. Then the deacon or a parishoner takes the food items to the Interfaith Food Pantry the next day.
